Behind the Scenes: Creating the Stock bank of Images for ND Construction & Renovation Mini-digger Hire

Hi everyone, It's Sam here and I like to think that i'm the glamour(!) behind the scenes of ND Construction & Renovation Mini-digger Hire! In reality i'm just a stressed out busy mum, living a life of chaos. My family used to joke that I wouldn't even take my dustbin out without a full face of make-up but lately i'm inclined to think I look more like a vagabond as life is packed full to the brim. I work as an Optometrist and also enjoy photography in my 'spare' time. I really hope that you have enjoyed taking a look around our brand new website and that you have found it easy to navigate and containing all the information you need to get you started with your latest project. I wanted to share with you a little more about our family and in particular about the day our son came to us with the concept of 'Daddy's Diggers' - which we so very nearly named the business.

Nik and I live in Chesterfield in a 17th century farmhouse that we are (slowly) renovating. It's a labour of love but important to us since our children (ranging in age from 11 to just 17 months old) will be the 5th generation of the Deakin family to live here. Nik has worked in the construction industry since leaving school, training as a brick layer. He spent much of his early career around and operating plant of all kinds. When our oldest son ('Cub') was just two years old, he developed a love (ok, obsession) for diggers - Bob the Builder was on repeat all day long. Later we visited 'Digger-land' in North Yorkshire and a blase remark from our son who commented "wouldn't it be amazing to do this when you grow up" sparked an idea. Nik spent the next few years researching into machines, trying out different brands and visiting show rooms and auction houses. Of course, we were all dragged along with him. Some of the images you see on the website were taken on those freezing cold winter days when our daughter ('The Duchess' - now 6) was making a nuisance of herself amongst the machinery at various sites. I remember it being so cold that her hands were almost blue - yet she would NOT be parted from her beloved Daddy and insisted she needed to 'try' each possible machine to make sure it was 'comfy'.

Fast forward a few more years, a few drops of water and they have multiplied 'gremlin-style'! We now have 4! 'Peach' is just 5 and the youngest just 17 months is our cute 'Piglet' (yes, we have nicknames for them all). They are all equally feral and love nothing more than sitting in Daddy's lap for hours at a time whilst he moves earth about from the paddock at the side of our property - he says it needs flattening but I think it's just an excuse for them to play on the machines! You can be sure that they are all bright enough to ask for their 'wages' for the work they have done and have of course also been paid handsomly for their most recent photoshoot you will see within the website. The Duchess has grand plans for her share and is saving for rechargeable batteries for one of her toys.
